EFL Department

Students for whom English is not their first language are able to study towards external examinations which enable them to demonstrate their proficiency in academic English and which will help them to gain access to University .

Polam Hall employs highly qualified and experienced EFL staff whose expertise is greatly valued by the students. On joining the school, students receive discrete EFL tuition and are supported by EFL teachers in mainstream lessons as well.

The students work towards achieving a level 6.0 - 7.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Many achieve above this grade.

The School has an outstanding record of success in EFL examinations. All of our 2009/10 candidates gained at least the level required for entry to UK universities.
