Parental Responses

The following is taken from an e-mail sent to Miss Green: -

Mr & Mrs D Dalby: - Parents of Kayleigh (U6), Carrie (Y11) and Ellie (Y5).

The main reason I am writing this email is just to put on record our thanks to all the hard working boarding ladies you have at Polam, all of whom make our separation by country from Kayleigh, Carrie and Ellie that much easier. Jill Garvey, Head of Boarding has been an absolute rock and a continued source of information for us, (just like the little parent slips, that don't actually make it to the parents, and some weeks/months later are found in the bottom of the school bag with a rotten apple stuck to them), she intercepts the messages and transmits them to us via email. Although our girls are getting better at communication!

Mrs Dyson, is Ellie's second mummy, and was Carrie's who still has a special spot for her; Mrs Clayton has an enormous sense of playful energy that keeps all those little darlings occupied so well. All of which makes me feel sometimes a little sad that I am superseded in some way, but pleasantly! To know that my girls have just as many cuddles and plasters as they need from your staff - I am reassured and helped not to feel too guilty.

I have to remind myself sometimes why I send my children away to school. When I look at their school photos and hear them on the phone in the evenings, telling us about their day and how Kayleigh has just sent off her application to be a Pilot in the RAF, this fills us with such admiration for what you have achieved and still are achieving with our little blessings.

So I thank you and could you please pass on to your terrific boarding staff - all of them - just how much we really appreciate both them and your good self. We appreciate all the effort that is put into our beautiful children. As a result they are turning out to be 'ladies' in every sense of the word, thanks to your school’s continuing good standing and prowess.

With fondest Regards

Mr and Mrs Dalby (Dawn and Darren)

A letter of thanks from Dr & Mrs Mitchell
