Service Families

Children from services families qualify for a 10% discount on Polam Hall boarding fees. This discount and the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) bring the cost of a boarding place at Polam Hall to a very affordable level.

Based on the 2009/2010 fees here is an example of how it would work: -

Years 3 to 6 per term
School boarding fee = £5590
Less Polam Hall Service Families discount @ 10% = £559
Total fees payable = £5031
CEA = £4338 (as at August 2009)
Total Parental contribution = £693
Total payable to the school = £5031

Years 7 to 13
School boarding fee = £6895
Less Polam Hall Service Families discount @ 10% = £689.50
Total fees payable = £6205.50
CEA = £5621 (as at August 2009)
Total Parental contribution = £620.55
CEA payable = £5584.95 as Service Families must pay a minimum of 10% of the school fees
Total payable to the School = £6205.50



Please note that the Service Families’ Discount applies to each child attending Polam Hall School. However, the School’s normal sibling discount cannot apply to those in receipt of a Service Families’ Discount. The above figures are based on 2009/2010 fees. The CEA quoted is that quoted in August 2009.
