Polam Hall School
Events & Activities
A range of different events and activities are organised throughout the year for both parents and their families and for the girls in the school.
Some examples of events held in recent years include a Pamper Evening, Bonfire Night, Dance Mat Challenge, Bag2School and recycling mobile phones / ink cartridges. Most recently, we hosted the History Wardrobe's very entertaining and amusing presentation, "Undressing Mr Darcy", which revealed (nearly) all of the Regency man's wardrobe.
These events have a fundraising element to them, and monies raised are used to help purchase items benefiting pupils in both the Junior and Senior Schools. Recent examples have included a contribution to the new Mini-bus; lighting equipment for the Liddiard Theatre; probes/sensor equipment for the Science Department; CD recording equipment for the Modern Foreign Languages Department; the robotic dinosaur - Pleo;a contribution towards playground equipment; a new television for the Boarders and a contribution towards a trampoline.
Some events are purely social whilst others hope to be informative and of interest, for example the Drug Awareness Talk and the presentation “Childhood on Offer Only Once”.
In addition, the Parents Association regularly supports a number of school activities such as the Open Days/Evenings, Christmas Fair, Junior Productions, Junior Cross Country, Junior & Senior Sports Days, Junior Prize Giving and Macmillan Coffee Morning.
