Physical Education - Boys
Boys at Polam Hall enjoy exciting and inclusive PE lessons, fixtures and house competitions in a wide range of sports.
All boys are taught by Craig Wilkinson, the first ever male PE teacher at Polam Hall. Craig completed his teacher training at Durham University, gaining a PGCE in Physical Education. Prior to that he attended Leeds University and gained a BSc (Hons) in Sport Science and Physiology. Craig has been recruited to ensure that the boys have the highest quality teaching and coaching.
An overview of the Lower School curriculum: -
Year 7 - Students are taught the basic skills in games, swimming and athletics. Gymnastic lessons involve pupils exploring the themes of weight transference, balance, stretching and curling.
Year 8 - In games, swimming and athletic lessons students are taught to refine and adapt existing skills. Gymnastic lessons involve pupils exploring the theme of twisting and turning
Year 9 - In games, swimming and athletic lessons students are taught specific techniques. Consistent control is developed. In gymnastics lessons pupils explore the theme of flight.
