Psychology

At Polam Hall, Psychology is studied in the Sixth Form at AS and A2 level, following the AQA (A) specification.

This is a very popular course nationally and appeals to a broad range of interests and abilities.

Assessment is now by examination exclusively at both levels, and students sit two papers in each year.

The course makes extensive use of online and interactive resources and the study of mainstream movies, such as Memento, A Beautiful Mind and Good Will Hunting, to illustrate key areas of psychology. There is lively discussion across many subject boundaries from philosophy to statistics.

Psychology A level students frequently go on to study the subject itself at degree level, but many find it an invaluable foundation for University courses in marketing, health-related therapies, criminology and sports psychology.
